Definitely cuts across some old lines that were taught and preached in the church i was brought up in. I have been in the pastorate for 46 years and have just in the last 20 years questioned some of those doctrines. Thank you for your insight!

Thanks for your feedback Pastor Murphy. It’s an honor to be able to serve.

Thank you Pablo for sharing these. Quite enlightening. There’s another thing i’m not clear about though – the issue of FIRST FRUIT.

I believe in giving and endeavor to pay my tithe in accordance with God’s instruction in Malachi 3 verses 8 – 12 but i do not understand the part about giving my first fruit.

    • Pablo Perez February 9, 2018 at 1:46 pm - Reply

Hi Robert. Yes, giving is part of the solution. But believe me when I say… there’s a lot more to solving the equation… a lot more that have to do with mindsets of unbelief (in all of us).

Great exposition. Has helped to reorder one’s perception to money and brought about a more robust positive appreciation of God’s intent for us concerning our finances.

    • Pablo Perez February 9, 2018 at 1:48 pm - Reply

Beautiful wording Anthony – Yes, our perception is the key. And a “positive appreciation” replacing all the negativity we have been taught is also essential.

i have read the message about the lies Christians believe about lies. i believe money has no problem. the problem lies with me being one of the victims. when i receive money in my hands, money is mine and i can do what i want with it.from what i have learnt knowingly or unknowingly i have worshiped the money. I need deliverance that the money should be for who gave it to me.thats God.

Thanks for sharing Tabitha. I appreciate it.

It is true what you teach. We listen too much to the world instead of God. Everything belongs to God, and therefore to us. We really need to change our mindset and rely on God, His word and nothing else

    • Pablo Perez February 9, 2018 at 2:01 pm - Reply

I couldn’t agree more Silvia. There’s so many instructions God has given us in His Word. And many of those instructions and promises confront the “religious” thinking and lies about this subject.

Your teaching gave me a new perspective about money. You explained each Scriptures well. I am excited to read the other lies. Looking forward to read them.

Glad to hear it Susan. I’m also looking forward to it.

I DO NOT BELIEVE WE CAN LOVE MONEY, AS IT IS AN INANIMATE OBJECT AND THERE FOR UNABLE TO RETURN OUR LOVE FOR IT. WE LOVE BECAUSE GOD FIRST LOVED US. LOVE ISN’T LOVE UNTIL YOU GIVE IT AWAY. I BELIEVE THE LOVE OF MONEY IS NOT RETURNING TO GOD THE LOVE OWED TO GOD, AND PUTTING OUR FAITH IN MATERIAL THINGS INSTEAD OF HIM.

    • Pablo Perez February 9, 2018 at 4:34 pm - Reply

Thanks for sharing Paul. I guess you could argue for “semantics.” However, I prefer to agree with the Apostle Paul. In 1 Timothy 6:10 he stated: “The LOVE of money is the root of all evil.” So yes, you can love money. And this is idolatry. But as you said, money is an inanimate object, an instrument, a means of exchange. Yet, remember, we humans are famous for falling in love with anything (no matter if it’s animate or inanimate). Even with STONES! (Jeremiah 2:27).

Pablo, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experiences and the heart of the Lord for his people related to finances. This is definitely a needed topic for all of us. He has called us to the increase. To be above and not beneath, to be the head and not the tail.
    Bless you my friend.

Thank you, Pablo, for this teaching. I think the problem we Christians have is that we are not spiritual anymore, we don’t descend the spirits, knowledge, and teachings anymore we believe everything we are told and nobody wants to ask the guidance of the Holy Spirit for directions. I am loving this teaching. Thanks

    • Pablo Perez February 9, 2018 at 11:46 pm - Reply

I think you have a point Chika. The good news is God has given us His Word. And the Holy Spirit confirms the will of God. Which by the way… it’s written. So yes, we must return to the Lord and take Him at His Word.

Totally agree that it is the love of money that is ungodly not money by itself. Money is an important commodity that enables mature believers to channel it to the right places.
Look around you, there is poverty in every nation and money used wisely can advance God’s Kingdom. Consider the House Churches in Myanmar, they get pushed around when they grow. Their landlords who are pagans are pressured by neighbours to not allow Christians to rent from them.
Hence, remaining poor will not allow the Church to arise and have a more permanent settlement. God wants to resource us so we can be His kingdom builders and financiers. So, let’s position ourself to receive His Grace.

    • Pablo Perez February 10, 2018 at 10:24 am - Reply

Beautiful words Vernon.”Kingdom Builders and Financiers.” I agree.

  15. Sonny February 10, 2018 at 9:48 am - Reply

You hit it directly on the head of the nail. I believe God wants blessed to be a blessing as being taught in the Bible. God wants His people to be blessed and take the Gospel around the world.

    • Pablo Perez February 10, 2018 at 10:27 am - Reply

Thank you Sonny. Yes, that touches on the purpose of wealth. We’ll discuss that down the road.

These are insightful points to ponder. It’s so sad that we could be so sanctimonious and excited in our foolishness.
Thanks for sharing them the way you’re doing.

Right on… I love your wording “Sanctimonious and Excited in our Foolishness” – I think I’m going to use this one (-:

I used to hear some of these lies when I was much much younger. As I’ve grown and started attending so-called ‘prosperity’ Churches, my perspectives have since changed.

Regardless, I do find your messages insightful, revealing and rich in fresh, nuanced perspectives! I look forward to more!

    Thanks a lot Pastor Perez

    • Pablo Perez February 13, 2018 at 11:03 am - Reply

Thanks Anthony. Yes, people always like to “label” things… often what they ignore or don’t understand… “Faith Churches” they say, or “End-Time Gospel” or “Revival Freaks” or “Judgement Preachers” or “Prosperity Gospel” — I don’t care about labels… I’m into the BIBLE — ALL OF IT! I believe God Gave Us His Word… So, WHY Shouldn’t We Believe Every Single Promise and Blessing God Has Made Available For Us?…

The teachings have been fantastic. Ancient truths presented in a most simple way for the understanding of any dummy. Truths that no antagonist can gainsay nor resist. But then, it’s only truths we internalise that can profit us…’the entrance of the word [{not hearing/reading] gives light and understanding to the simple. Looking forward to the rest.

Thanks and God bless you richly

    • Pablo Perez February 16, 2018 at 1:49 pm - Reply

Thank you Adekunle – And i love the quote from Psalm 119:130. It is true: we must let God’s Word enter and become alive!
