Why Did God Make Man?

By | 2017-10-26T13:43:27+00:00 October 20th, 2017|Spiritual Fuel|

So much talk about the meaning of life today... Pay close attention to God's reason for creating man: God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth... God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves on the earth―Gen. 1:26, 28 What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You attend to him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and crowned him with glory and honor. You have given him dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatever travels the paths of the seas―Ps. 8:4-8 What agreement [...]

Secrets to Intimately Know God

By | 2018-01-23T01:31:00+00:00 October 6th, 2017|Spiritual Fuel|

I remember that day as it was yesterday… The congregation wondered why I left the keyboard in tears and moved to the front of the altar—they did not know I was in anguish and confronted by the lack of the knowledge of God in my life... As I reached the front section I raised my hands and shouted with all my strength: "God, I want to know you, I can't go on like this anymore!" That was 23 years ago, while my wife and I were missionaries in Mexico. And I believe God heard my prayer that day. He has been answering it, little by little through the years... Of course I don't know God fully (nobody does), but I I know Him more than before, and the following 5 things helped me... To Know God You Must Do Five Things A key passage the Lord has used to cure my ignorance is Proverbs 2, which reveals five secrets to cultivate the knowledge of God... Each one of these secrets come after an "if", presenting them as conditions to a promise. But I call them "disciplines," because you are not suppose to do them only once… ...you should do them [...]

How Old Is the Lord?

By | 2018-01-21T01:28:07+00:00 October 2nd, 2017|Spiritual Fuel|

Previously we asked "Who is God?" and He answered... Today we'll get bolder and ask: How old are you? Pay close attention to what God reveals about His age: Before the mountains were brought forth, or You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting You are God―Ps. 90:2 But the Lord remains forever; He has established His throne for judgment―Ps. 9:7 You, O Lord, shall endure forever enthroned and Your reputation to all generations... Your years endure throughout all generations ... but You are the same, and Your years shall have no end―Ps. 102:12-27 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God―John 1:1-2 Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly I say to you, before Abraham was born, I AM”―John 8:58 He is the image of the invisible God.. for by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible... all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together―Col. 1:15-17 He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha [...]

God’s Opinion About Alcoholism

By | 2017-10-04T18:18:17+00:00 October 1st, 2017|Spiritual Fuel|

Today we'll dive into the realm of addiction... Alcoholism has destroyed countless families, and  once again, God's thoughts are clear, but not as extreme as some people would like... Even though the list for "not drinking" can make a lot of sense, the truth is: Jesus and his disciples drank wine (John 2:1-12, Mt. 26:26-30), and all the wine "forbidders" have to deal with that... Perhaps drinking is not the problem―like eating food can not be blamed for "gluttony"―maybe the issue is excess, abuse, addiction―or the PAIN that causes people to 'over-drink' and escape their reality, using wine as a 'pain killer' for the soul (to forget the life they hate). So yes, alcoholism is a sin... whatever the reason behind (boredom or pain), usually boredom for youth and pain for adults. But don't confuse 'drinking wine' with alcoholism... That would the same than misquoting "money is the root of all evil" when in reality Paul said: "the love of money is the root of all evil" (1 Timothy 6:10) BIG difference―get that wrong and you'll be broke for life... Words are VERY important. You only have to remove one to change the whole meaning of what God meant... [...]

Why Did God Make Woman?

By | 2017-10-01T16:41:19+00:00 September 30th, 2017|Spiritual Fuel|

Most of what we covered on this post: Why did God Make Man?, also apply to woman, but of there is more reserved only for ladies... Why Did God Make Woman? Pay close attention to God's reason for creating woman: The man gave names to all the livestock, to the birds of the sky, and to every beast of the field, but for Adam there was not found a helper suitable for him. So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept. Then He took one of his ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man, He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. Then Adam said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she will be called Woman, for she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and they will become one flesh―Gen. 2:20-24 Who can find a virtuous woman? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts in her, so that he [...]

God’s Thoughts About Abortion

By | 2017-10-03T18:28:11+00:00 September 30th, 2017|Spiritual Fuel|

A very sensitive subject. A painful one for some. A matter of choice for many people in our society... But God's thoughts are clear... What Does God Say About Abortion? Pay close attention to God's thoughts: You shall not murder―Ex. 20:13 Look, children are a gift of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is a reward. As arrows in the hand of a mighty warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; he shall not be ashamed when he speaks with the enemies at the gate―Psalm 127:3-5 You brought my inner parts into being; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will praise you, for You made me with fear and wonder; marvelous are Your works, and You know me completely. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, and intricately put together in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw me unformed, yet in Your book all my days were written, before any of them came into being. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should [...]

The Controversial Mystery of One God In Three Persons

By | 2017-09-30T17:18:26+00:00 September 18th, 2017|Spiritual Fuel|

Before we get started, let me warn you: today is not for the lazy Bible student—but I promise: if you read attentively you will understand more about the Trinity than you ever did before. The trinity is one of the most important doctrines in the Bible. Even though the word "trinity" is not in the Bible, the concept is confirmed. Trinity means "tri-unity" or "three-in-one." And more than 70 passages in the New Testament present the Father, Son, and Spirit together. The doctrine teaches that God exists as three persons—Father, Son, and Spirit. Each person is fully and eternally God, yet there is only one God. The mystery of the Trinity is this: 3 divine persons dwell together (forever) in deep relationship as one God. But today, this doctrine is under attack… Many "anti-christ forerunners" (that push the inter-faith movement), are seeking to blend all religions into one faith... ... but the effort is really foolish, if not impossible. Because Monotheistic religions (like Islam and Judaism) are aggressively opposed to embrace a God in three persons (as all Christians do). Trinity Heroes and Heresy Wars There were two "trinity" heroes among the early fathers… Athanasius (293-373 AD), Bishop of Alexandria, [...]

Sustainer, Redeemer and Everlasting Ruler

By | 2018-01-22T22:07:11+00:00 September 17th, 2017|Spiritual Fuel|

Upholding all things by the word of His power (Heb. 1:3) To uphold all things means to "sustain" or "support" them continuously. It's a scientific fact that creation cannot sustain itself… All of matter needs energy to function—everything created operate according to LAWS, and these laws are sustained by Jesus' word. When scientists discover the laws that regulate matter (all the palpable, visible world) they rarely discern the sustaining power of Jesus... They say: "laws of nature" or "universal laws" Some years ago, the "law of attraction" gained momentum (specially among new agers). This law, however, can be explained by one sentence from Jesus: according to your faith is done to you (Mt. 9:29). But the law of attraction (which is just another way to explain how faith works) is just one law—there are many others—and they are all sustained by the words of Jesus' power. Jesus Christ sustains the world in the same way He created it, by WORDS that release His power (Gen. 1:3; Heb. 11:3). The God-Man Redeems Creation GOD had to become human to offer Himself as the offering for sin. This was way more difficult than creating everything... He had by Himself purged our sins… [...]

Behold: The Radiance of GOD

By | 2017-09-17T19:53:56+00:00 September 17th, 2017|Spiritual Fuel|

The Son... who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person... (Heb. 1:3) The unspoken analogy is the relationship between the sun and the rays of light (that stream forth from it). As the the rays of light shine on earth, Jesus shines the Father's glory into our hearts. Now, rays of light express the nature of the sun. But those rays are not the sun itself (rays of light come from the sun) and as long as the sun exists, the radiance of its rays will shine... Jesus is the brightness (the radiance) of the Father's glory, the express image of the Most High God. The Greek word for brightness is apaugosmo: it speaks of God's glory "pouring forth" or "streaming forth" from Jesus. To grasp this excellency of Jesus you must first know that He is of the same nature, substance and essence as the Father... Jesus is God—He is like the Father—but He is a distinct person from the Father, and as a distinct person, He is the brightness (the pouring and streaming forth) of the Father. It is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone [...]

Jesus, The Heir of Everything and Creator of The World

By | 2017-09-16T23:52:42+00:00 September 16th, 2017|Spiritual Fuel|

It was an extremely radical idea… Because the Romans proclaimed Caesar as the heir—the rightful owner of the nations—and the leaders of Israel saw themselves as the "heirs" over the land of Israel... Jesus, the Heir of All Things Whom He has appointed heir of all things… (Heb. 1:2) What's more, both groups persecuted and killed Jewish believers. So, for the first believers to claim that a Jewish Man (who died as a criminal) was the true heir of the world... was very extreme! Still today it's a challenging idea for many... But the Father appointed that Jewish Man to be heir of all the property and resources of the earth. The Father decreed that His Son Jesus Christ would be given all the nations as His inheritance: I will give You the nations for Your inheritance… (Ps. 2:8) Jesus inheriting the nations means: He will receive and control all the governments, property, money and resources of earth. That's right: the sweet Jesus you sing songs to will take over all the nations (when He returns)—on the basis of truth, humility, and righteousness (Ps. 45:4; Isa. 11:3-5; 42:1-4). In your majesty ride forth victoriously in behalf of truth, humility and [...]
