Well, God is so gracious! Back in those days I remember how He delivered me from my despair (Ps. 40) by giving me this song: Transcendent Majesty

Just wondering why can’t I do the will of God? Why? I know GOD loves me hence my CHRIST died for me but finds it very difficult to live my life for Christ. I need help because the hassles in life is closing doors to my CHRIST. I tried to seek, knock and ask but my faith is so little. Who will rescue me from this circular life? I’m answering you because I towed the path of which you speak for 5 years, and I know it’s not pretty. There’s no trick to righteous living though – it’s born of a decision and daily sacrifice.
Don’t try to save yourself, Christ HAS ALREADY DIED! He has been lifted as the serpent that whosoever beholds is made whole. If you ever believed in your heart that Jesus has died for your sins and risen as you attested, you have already been granted access to the holiest of all by his blood, mingled with your faith. But that is only the beginning…
The only proof that you have believed that Jesus has died and risen and made you a new person is now how you choose to walk henceforth, by the help of the Holy Spirit given to help us. Faith is bi-partite then – believing in God,and then living as one who actually believes in God, and this, only by deciding to cooperate with the Holy Spirit.
Any other way will only leave you in such a state that you’ll begin doubting your salvation, trust me, I’ve been there. And yet you’re not saved till the Holy Spirit has begun to renew your mind and eventually your body, even as your spirit was renewed when you confessed Jesus as Lord.
This verse of scripture thus sums it up, ‘For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live.” Romans 8:13
Practically, a horse, no matter how large is easily turned by the little bridle placed in its mouth, and a ship, by the little helm. If you’ve recognized your weakness(es), confess them to the Lord, and mount a watch (so to speak) for every time that tendon is touched.
Whoever you give hold of that bridle will control your whole body – if Satan, you will go to hell’s depths; but if God (the Holy Spirit), you will ascend the heavenlies. So consciously ask the Holy Spirit for the way, and for help anytime you’re in your regular fix; you’ll see His help will come.
Also importantly is how you spend your time. Spend it studying about Jesus’ life and character traits, and His person. If you do this sincerely, you’ll find yourself becoming more akin to want to stay with Him than against Him in sin.
May the Father help you through this. Amen.
The only proof of God’s love for us is that He died to redeem us from the grave. The only proof that you’ve accepted this love is that you agree to die to sin. God will not help you decide whether or not to live holy. The Holy Spirit will only help you when you have made the decision in His favor. Shalom!
