The Majestic Splendor of God

Tags

At once I came under the [Holy] Spirit’s power, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with One seated on the throne! And He Who sat there appeared like [the crystalline brightness of] jasper and [the fiery] sardius, and encircling the throne there was a halo that looked like [a rainbow of] emerald. Rev. 4:2-3 Amp.

Have you ever wonder what God looks like?

John left us some clues, not only of what He looks like, but of how He feels and acts. He saw a powerful throne and One seated on it—God the Father.

There are three hints about the Father’s personality on verse 3. We’ll deal with the first now and the rest on coming articles.

He Who sat there appeared like [the crystalline brightness of] jasper— the Jasper stone is a white sparkling diamond, clear as crystal. It speaks of the majestic splendor of God and the fascinating radiance of His being. It illustrates how glorious and transcendent His person is…

The jasper stone describes the never-ending beauty and magnificence of our Father.

Some years ago, upon discovering that God is like a Jasper Stone I named my music company Jasper Stone Music… seeking to portray the splendor of God’s majesty through music.

The God we sing songs to is more glorious and beautiful than what we have imagined…

The splendor of His majesty shines through both of His creations—the natural (Universe) and the spiritual (the New Man). One we see with our natural eyes, the other with the eyes of our hearts.

Closing Thought: Gaze on the beauty of God’s majesty today. Behold the One who is like a Jasper Stone. Let the brightness of his never-ending splendor shine over your soul… He is magnificent, marvelous and forever beautiful.

  1. Very informative post. I’ve found your site via Yahoo and I’m really happy about the information you provide in your articles. Btw your blogs layout is really messed up on the Kmelon browser. Would be really great if you could fix that. Anyhow keep up the great work!
